Offers a wide range of industrial data at sub-sectoral level, including on output, value added, employment, wages and salaries, number of enterprises, and gross fixed capital formation (registration required)

Key source for all types of international trade statistics, including sub-sector-level and product-specific export data for a large set of countries (registration required)

Material Flows Database

An online portal for material flow data, providing access to national-level datasets on the extraction and consumption of different types of material (biomass, fossil fuels, minerals, ores).

Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) database

For the calculations underlying Tool 6.2 (Greening Industry: Material Efficiency), data from the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) database, maintained by the Purdue University in the USA, was applied. The technical details of the modelling approach can be found in an article in the Journal of Industrial Ecology (Giljum et al., 2014).

Through the World Energy Balances database, it offers data on the supply and consumption of energy for different sectors and sub-sectors of the economy, including a disaggregation on the basis of different energy carriers
